They Call Me the "Cat Lady"

Sometimes a fur baby will announce that he is coming home despite the number of children at your home. Meet Starshine, our newest fur child.

He is named for a calico literary cat, Sharshine, who is part of the Kinsey Milhone series by Alex Matthews. My original Starshine, sister to my familiar Dickens for Charles Dickens, passed away unexpectedly a few years ago. She also was a beautiful orange and white cat.

It became obvious very quickly who would rule this relationship.

  1. Yeah, we did get suckered in, did we not - or forcibly adopted. He adopted us, not the other way around. I have to point out that the way we lost the first Starshine so horribly and abruptly to antifreeze poisoning left us with an unresolved loss that we never aquired closure from. We have up until now been very good about not adding to the cat population, and have had the numbers go down, but for Starshine the Second to be so closely colorted and patterned to the first Sarshine, and the sweet loving feisty nature of this little guy as he immeiately went to sleep made him an immediate and inevitable member of our family! And we are very glad he is here - he slept curled up between us all night last night draped over both our arms. I think he is going to be one of the special ones!
