Voting 63 for and 28 against the Senate on July 16 advanced a hate-crimes amendment... The amendment would expand the federal law against hate crimes to include offenses based on sexual orientation, gender or disability as well as the existing categories of national origin, religion and race...
Voting

Voting no Jim DeMint
Not voting: Lyndsay Graham
Not voting for either next term: Me
I don't even have words for state leaders who do not see the need for hate crime protection in a state where Sean Kennedy was murdered.
Being the cynic in the crowd...It's politics, that's all. They want to get re-elected, and they feel their constituent based would vote them out if they didn't vote certain ways.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they are right. If they're re-elected next term, either they were right or the electorate has a short memory...oh wait, they voted for Bush 3 times?
As to leaders who don't see a need? Being crude here, but these are probably the one's who sit in a back room with a glass of Jack and a stoogie commenting that his death just meant one less faggot.
Throw the bums out. If they get re-elected....tells you a lot about the place you live and how they feel about you. Sorry, not a lot of faith in people.
Never under estimate the stupidity of people in large numbers.
